JCB Dieselmax
JCB Dieselmax, The world’s fastest diesel car
07 December 2007 – 31 January 2008
The world’s fastest diesel car was shown at the Design Museum in 2007. Developed by British construction and engineering company JCB and designed entirely by computer, the Dieselmax broke the diesel land speed record in August 2006 at the Bonneville Salt Flats USA, reaching a speed of 350.092 mph (563.418 kph). The nine metre long vehicle, powered by two specially designed JCB Dieselmax engines, normally found in JCB diggers, holds a unique place in record-breaking history.
