INCOGNITO
Design: Khashayar Naimanan for the Nymphenburg Porcelain Factory

13 December 2006 – 22 January 2007

Born in 1976 in London, Khashayar Naimanan began working with the Nymphenburg Porcelain Factory while studying at Royal College of Art. Their latest collaboration - INCOGNITO - is a range of hand thrown porcelain that subverts the accepted traditions of patterned tableware by presenting the pattern on the underside of each piece. Fascinated by the concept of hiding wealth, Naimanan explores a new austerity in design – an investigation into aesthetics and materials that celebrate conspicuous abstention. This new direction offers consumers an opportunity to indulge in luxury – but to do so privately.
