BRIT INSURANCE DESIGNS OF THE YEAR STUDENT COMPETITION 2008

Brit Insurance Designs of the Year Student Competition is run jointly by the Design Museum and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.

This new competition links to the Design Museum’s ground-breaking industry award Brit Insurance Designs of the Year and accompanying exhibition celebrating the most innovative and memorable new work in design internationally and across seven design categories.

The competition will be judged by a high level panel including leading designers whose work has been nominated as design of the year.

BBC BLAST AND THE DESIGN MUSEUM AT THE NATIONAL THEATRE
Milliners in the making!

Inspired by the Design Museum’s exhibition Tim Walker – Pictures, a design and make creativity two day workshop will be delivered here at the museum. Renowned milliner Yasmin Rizvi will introduce illustration and modelling processes to a group of young participants recruited by BBC Blast. They will develop initial concept pieces that focus on exploring 2-d and 3-d ideas in a fun and fast paced environment. Eye catching sculptural head pieces will be made by 20 young people that have been recruited by BBC Blast. The collection will be showcased during an evening finale at the National Theatre.
