Collectors and Collections of Contemporary Design in the 21st Century
£45 / £35 for members
With a century's worth of objects to choose from and new work emerging all the time, what are the factors influencing the shape and future role of collections of contemporary design? How do the expectations of the consuming collector, and the aspiration of being collected, impact on the output and role of the designer?
This burgeoning field is dramatically changing the landscape for designers, educationalists, museums and the commercial sector. This one day conference, will host a number of presentations and discussions identifying current and future issues facing collectors of design and crafts.
This is the next series of conferences organised by the MA Curating Contemporary Design course, run by Kingston University in partnership with the Design Museum. Sign up for further information about speakers and themes that will be covered.
MA Course In Curating Contemporary Design
The Design Museum and Kingston University offer a post-graduate course - MA Curating Contemporary Design - to prepare students for careers in the museums sector and creative industries.
